 The Genesee Valley Esthetic Center is a 1,250 square foot facility located in the same building as and adjacent to GVLC’s main office. The Esthetic Center consolidates several of our services that are primarily cosmetic.
The Center’s cosmetic boutique offers GlyDerm, MD Forté®, Kinerase product lines as well as Skin Medica and Jane Iredale® cosmetics.
With our in-house nursing expertise and resources, patients can compare, sample, and select the product best suited to their need, whether it be rejuvenation, repair, or revitalization.
Gly Derm® Products
Gly Derm® products improve skin tone, smooth fine wrinkles, and diminish skin discoloration and blemishes. They utilize glycolic acid, an alpha-hydroxy acid naturally occurring in sugar cane. It penetrates the skin and loosens thickened surface layers that appear as dry, rough, scaling skin. As uppermost layers are sloughed away, skin with a smoother texture and healthier appearance is revealed. Gly Derm's esterified formulation makes these products especially effective, and they are dispensed only by physicians. These products may be used alone or in conjunction with in-office glycolic acid facials. A complete system of products for skin revitalization from head to toe is also available.
M.D. Forté®
M.D. Forté® products minimize wrinkles and fine lines while giving the skin a new youthful appearance. M.D. Forté® contains alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) which normalizes the exfoliation process and increases moisture to the skin. The M.D. Forté® product line contains up to 2-3 times higher levels of glycolic acid than other similar products, without irritation.
With continued daily use, your skin will become softer and smoother within a few days and visible results should be noticeable in 2-6 weeks. Available only in a physician’s office, M.D. Forté® products can be used alone or in conjunction with your skin care treatments in the office. A complete line of products ranging from cleansers, moisturizers and sun protection is available.
Kinerase™
With Kinerase™, you have the ability to help reverse the signs of photoaging with virtually no skin irritation. Furfuryladenine is a natural plant growth factor that retards the aging process in plants. Cut leaves dipped in a solution containing furfuryladenine will remain green, while untreated leaves turn brown. Studies have shown furfuryladenine to have a similar effect in vitro on human skin cells, helping slow and reverse alterations that naturally occur in the cell-aging process. Kinerase™ also has moisturizing qualities.
Kinerase™ has shown no interactions with drugs or other products. Because there is virtually no irritation, you can use it in the morning before you apply makeup, sunscreens or other cosmetics, or with other appearance-enhancing products at bedtime. Since sun avoidance is recommended in any skin care program, a sunscreen with an SPF of 15 or higher should be used.
SkinMedica
Discovered through wound healing research and used in Skin Medica’s TNS product family, NouriCel-MD is a proprietary mix of multiple human growth factors, soluble collagen, matrix proteins, antioxidants and other ingredients, which delivers visible improvement in dyspigmentation, the appearance of wrinkles, and an overall increase in skin firmness and resiliency. Jane Iredale™
Jane Iredale’s line is a highly-sophisticated blend of minerals and pigments which are micro-pulverized, using proprietary technology and processes to form microscopic flat crystals.
