The Cool Touch™ VARIA is a highly effective tool for both hair removal and vascular lesions. The longer wavelength penetrates beyond the melanin barrier and deeper into the skin, allowing us to treat larger and deeper leg veins. The longer wavelength is also absorbed by melanin in the hair follicle. This allows patients with darker skins types (from type III to VI) to be safely treated for permanent hair reduction. This laser also targets follicles in patients who have inflammatory disorders of the hair such as pseudofolliculitis barbae or acne keloidalis on the posterior scalp.
